About Kids Witness News (KWN) Kids Witness News, an educational program spearheaded by Panasonic is reaching out to all primary and secondary schools students age between 10 years to 15 years.   Since 1988, Kids Witness News (KWN) Programme has been a hands-on video education program established by Panasonic in the United States of America. Today, KWN covers all 50 states in the US and is expanding worldwide with endorsements from important American individuals and officials from many countries and offices such as Hilary Clinton and the office of Dick Cheney (The Vice President of the United States).   Participants will each form a team to produce a 5 minutes documentary on the theme issue to compete at the national level. Each country will select an entry to participate at the global contest. The winners from every participating country would also have a chance to compete at the global competition for the Grand Prix award.   To reaffirm Panasonic's corporate commitment in contributing to the society, KWN aims to inspire self-confidence, unleash creativity and generate excitement in the learning process amongst our future generation. While it enables students to seek experiences and explore opportunities in the various roles, KWN also aims to spur the participants to pursue their interest in filming as well as building on their skills and knowledge with workshops, excursions on filming sites and technical skills from mentors and film practitioners.   Last year, 20 schools participated in the Singapore contest. Entry from Pei Hwa Secondary School was chosen to compete in the Regional competition. At the Regional competition, Pei Hwa Secondary School received the Best Script Award from participating countries like Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand.
