90cm (35 in) free fall tests^*1 are conducted. From material to construction—tough body

The hard disk is protected by special shock absorbing material (dampers), and the main body is made from impact resistant magnesium alloy^*2. Because the tough design of the main body is tested to withstand falls from about 90 cm^*1 even in challenging environments, work can be done on a PC. Then, when moving from one location to another, there is no need to worry about putting the PC in a case. You can just take it with you as is.

Shock resistant hard disk reduces risk of data loss
The hard disk is surrounded with a special shock-damping material and enclosed in an aluminum case. Thus protected from shocks, the hard disk is less susceptible to damage, and the risk of data loss is greatly reduced. Because it withstands vibration and jolts, you can use it all day in vehicles.

Shock-resistant LCD monitor

Shock-absorbing material (damper) on the inner side protects the LCD. Shock damping, along with a frame that resists bending and twisting, make the LCD less susceptible to damage.

Sealing and fan-less design prevent the penetration of water and dust

The design features seamless sealing all around the body and a splash resistant keyboard. Even the connectors are protected by a metal door with a rubber seal. The computer resists the entry of water or dust from any direction. Moreover, the fan-less design prevents trouble that might otherwise be caused by sucking in dust or particles. Outdoors, you can use it without worrying about sudden showers or blowing dust.

Splash-proof cover protects the ports from dust and water splatter

The frequently used LAN and modem connectors are protected from the inside by sealant. For the other ports, a metal door with a rubber seal provides protection against the penetration of water drop and dust. The connector sections are also protected against impact damage after falling.

A special seal prevents falling water from getting in via the face side of the monitor while all-round rubber sealing in the housing also ensures that water does not penetrate.

Powerful security is achieved since the encryption key stores on separate hardware (security chip) from the hard disk where data is stored. In the event of unauthorized access, steal or loss of the hard disk, the encryption key will not be found.

Established by TCG (Trusted Computing Group), an organization promoting security standardization, TPM (Trusted Platform Module) is a computer chip that contains an encryption key for security and privacy protection.

Prevent unauthorized access to the hard disk with hard disk protection

The hard disk itself is password protected. Even if someone removes it and tries to read it in another computer, reading would not be possible without the password. Should the hard disk be stolen, leakage of your valuable data can be prevented.

Easily removable battery and hard disk

It is possible to remove and replace the battery and hard disk, without even the need to deal with a screw, after simply opening a side cover of the notebook PC. Outdoors, it’s easy to replace the battery, and the hard disk can easily be removed for storage.
