While there are many PC manufacturers who outsource their production today, Panasonic designs and develops our PCs completely in-house, and uses an integrated manufacturing system that extends from PCB production to final product assembly --- all in our own factories in Japan. This allows us to respond to our customers' needs by incorporating our unique technologies into the product development stage.

Obtaining ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 for High-Level Production Management

Our Kobe Factory was certified with both ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, which attest to our advanced quality and environmental management systems. We are continuously striving to improve our production system.

ISO 9001 is an international standard for quality management systems that enhance product quality assurance and customer satisfaction.

ISO 14001 is an international standard for environmental management systems that minimize or prevent environmental impacts and risks.

In addition to the Kobe Factory, our IT Products Division also earned ISO 14001 certification for its environmental management system.

Quality Management Based on a Production Information Network (KISS System)

We have adopted the KISS (Kobe Intranet Solution for Super-Production) Quality Management System. Using QR codes laser-printed onto circuit boards, all manufacturing processes and post-production adjustments are managed by the KISS server to achieve highly reliable production.

caused by electromagnetic radiation emitted by electronic devices.

Resolving difficulties, since the coming of full-scale terrestrial digital broadcasting and
an increasingly noisy electromagnetic environment, with outdoor testing.
In open conditions, the air is thick with TV, radio, and other electromagnetic waves. Now, with the coming of full-scale terrestrial digital broadcasting, outdoor testing of devices has become problematic.
Using an automatic measurement system, products made at the Kobe Factory are tested,
at a distance of 10m, with greater precision.
A radio wave dark room that enables 10m protocol testing has been built at the site of the Kobe Factory. Here, isolation from the influence of outdoor electromagnetic radiation enables quick and accurate measurement. Because results can be immediately fed back to the factory, we are able to respond even more quickly to produce products that precisely conform to regulations for specific markets.
