A water-resistant design lets you use this camera when it's rainy or snowy outside, or in places where you might get a little wet. This is a camera you can use in places – like alongside a pool or outside a ski lodge – where you never dared take a video camera before.

The S10 is designed to resist damage even if dropped from a height of up to 1.2 meters. We fortified the outer body casing, making it thicker to improve rigidity and strength. Inside, we provided an intermediate resin chassis to cushion and protect the main circuit board and lens. Pure Colour Engine converts the CCD output signal from a complementary colour signal into an RGB signal at an early stage and extracts the low-frequency luminance component from the RGB signal. This innovative engine also achieves truly superb colour reproduction for high-zoomed pictures.

The S10 starts up to record quickly. In Quick Start mode*, the S10 begins recording in just 1.7 seconds from the time the LCD is opened. *This mode can be selected from the menu.
