This bright f/2.8, 28mm wide-angle lens system with 3.6x optical zoom power fits five aspherical lenses, including one EA lens, into a slim camera body. When the camera is in 3-megapixel mode, the Extra Optical Zoom function boosts the zoom power to 5.7x.

Able to distinguish the slight camera shake that occurs when you press the shutter release from other kinds of camera movement, the new MEGA O.I.S. system provides both advanced shake detection and a more precise corrective effect.

The camera automatically senses whether the subject is moving or not and adjusts the ISO sensitivity and shutter speed accordingly. It helps prevent motion blur, so you get clear, beautiful photos even when your subject won't hold still.

This function quickly determines if there are people in the shot, and selects the optimal focus and exposure settings. If the positions of the people change, the settings are automatically readjusted. With the Quick AF system, focusing begins without even having to press the shutter button halfway, so you're ready when the moment comes.

This smart function senses the shooting situation and determines which of five scene modes - Scenery, Portrait, Macro, Night Portrait, or Night Scenery - will yield the best results. You get beautiful shots every time, without making a lot of complicated settings.
