LUMIX DMC-LZ10

The 30mm wide-angle lens with 5x optical zoom lets you fit more into the photo than you can with a 35mm lens. For example, you can get more of a sweeping landscape in a single shot. The 5x zoom is great for capturing dramatic shots of small or distant subjects. With both a wide-angle lens and a 5x zoom, this is one camera that does it all. There's also an Extra Optical Zoom function that boosts zoom power to 8.9x in 3-megapixel resolution mode.

The new DMC-LZ10 feature the iA (Intelligent Auto) mode, which comprises 5 shooting-assist functions; Mega O.I.S., Intelligent ISO Control, Intelligent Scene Selector, Face Detection and Quick AF functions. Mega O.I.S. suppresses hand-shake and Intelligent ISO Control prevents motion blur. The Intelligent Scene Selector sets the appropriate scene mode by automatically selecting it from the most frequently used scene modes, such as Portrait, Scenery, Macro, Night Portrait and Night Scenery. The Face Detection system detects a human face to set the focus and appropriate exposure for it automatically. The Quick AF system allows the camera to start focusing on the subject even without pressing the shutter button halfway, to get the best results from every shooting opportunity by minimizing the AF time. Once you enter iA mode, these multi-capable functions happen automatically so you can shoot without the bother of adjusting settings every time conditions change. You can enjoy easy, trouble-free shooting in any situation and get the satisfaction that comes with capturing clear, beautiful images.

The DMC-LZ10 features a newly developed CCD. Slightly larger than previous types, this 1/2.33-inch CCD fully supports the camera's 10.1-megapixel resolution.

The LZ10 give you a choice of four exposure modes: Program AE (P), Aperture Priority AE (A), Shutter Priority AE (S), and Manual (M). This gives you the flexibility and creative freedom to capture more expressive shots. You can fine-tune four or five of the settings in the Scenery, Portrait, Sports, and Night Portrait scene modes on the mode dial to better suit the shooting conditions. This makes it easier to capture the exact image you have in mind.

Panasonic's new image-processing engine, Venus Engine IV, uses advanced signal processing to give you even higher-quality images. The new engine also offers a number of other improvements, including more accurate detection and better correction for its MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) and Intelligent ISO Control functions. Venus Engine IV responds quickly and saves power even with full 10.1-megapixel resolution.

The DMC-LZ10 boast a 230,000-dot high-resolution LCD with Intelligent LCD function, which detects the lighting condition and controls the brightness level of the LCD in 12 fine steps, to offer a display with the most appropriate clarity in any situation.
