Versatile Functions
Faster AF
The various AF mode can be selected according to the shooting environment and the position of the subject. In the 1-point normal speed AF, the AF time is reduced by one third of the time compared to the DMC-FX01, to provide a quick and smooth AF without screen-freeze.
AF Distance Metering

9-point AF
For general shooting conditions. This mode gives you a sharp focus for a variety of picture compositions.

3-point high speed AF
This mode prevents the system from mistakenly focusing on the area between two subjects in a horizontal composition.

1-point high speed AF
The AF time has been dramatically reduced to achieve outstanding focusing.
*Compared with normal speed focusing.

1-point AF
Although screen-freeze in high-speed AF is now minimized, if you take the picture of subject with fast movement, you can select this mode which does not have any screen-freeze while focusing.

Spot AF
This mode keys the focus to a small area within the frame.
AF Assist Lamp

Provides extra lighting as a focusing aid for slightly dark situations where AF focusing would ordinarily be difficult.
High Quality Wide Aspect VGA* Motion Picture Mode
The DMC-FX07 lets you shoot smooth motion pictures at 30 frames/sec, complete with sound, in WVGA* or VGA size**. You can also shoot at 10 frames/sec to reduce the file size.

- ***In Motion Picture mode, the length of recording time depends on the capacity of the SD / SDHC Memory Card.(Up to the equivalent of 2 GB per motion image recording.) When you set the picture quality to [30 fps VGA] or [30 fps in wide VGA] , we recommend using a high speed SD / SDHC Memory Card with "10 MB/s" or greater displayed on the package. Some lens movement sounds may be recorded.
MEGA BURST Consecutive Shooting
Just keep the shutter button pressed to fire off consecutive shots* of a moving subject or a person's changing facial expression. Then save only the best ones. With a digital camera, you can just delete any shots you don't want. In addition, the Unlimited** Consecutive Shooting function lets you continue shooting until the memory card is full. (The focus and exposure are fixed at the first frame.)
- * 3 frames or 2 frames per second with full resolution. Max. 8 images in Standard mode/Max 6 images in Fine Mode.
- **The speed of the consecutive shooting varies depending on the memory card.The number of recordable picture depends on the memory card size, battery life, picture size, and compression.

Selection of 3 Aspect Ratios
The aspect ratio is easily selectable between 16:9* wide, 3:2** and conventional 4:3 to shoot in the framing aspect that best suits the subjects' composition or the image's purpose of use. You can shoot images in the wide 16:9 format*. Then insert the recorded SD/SDHC Memory Card into a TV equipped with an SD/SDHC card slot to view them in perfect, wide-screen size. Some TVs will display the image in stunning high definition.

Viewing Photo on HDTV

Optional HDTV Photo Player DMW-SDP1 allows you to view photos taken by the DMC-FX07, in 1080i High Definition quality on a large screen TV. It also supports VGA (640 x 480) / WVGA (848 x 480) motion picture playback.

World Time Setting

This setting lets you display the local time of your destination when traveling abroad. You simply select your travel destination, and the camera calculates the time difference from the time in the clock setting and displays the local time. You can set the time and date for 74 locations across the world.
Travel Date Setting
By setting the departure day when setting out on a trip with the DMC-FX07, you can display which day of the trip each photo was taken on while viewing. Great for organizing your travel photos.

New Composition Guidelines
You can use composition guide lines from two patterns according to the shooting subject. And guide lines can be shown at the same time as other information, icons.

Real-Time Histograms

This graph, which can be displayed in the LCD as you line up the shot, shows the status of the exposure and contrast in real-time.
White Balance

Choose from six preset white balance settings: Auto, Daylight, Cloudy, Shade, Halogen, and White Set. When there are several different light sources and it's difficult to get the exact coloration you want, you can also fine-tune the photo by adding bluish or reddish tones, in up to ±10 steps of 150K (Kelvin) each.*
*Cannot be used in Auto Set mode.
Exposure Compensation*
Adjust the exposure setting to create a particular image.
*1/3 EV step, ±2 EV
Auto Bracketing
This lets you pick the best shot from different, automatically graduated exposures.
(±1/3 -1 EV step, 3 frames)
Color Effect Mode

Alter the coloring effect to your liking.
Picture Adjustment

Select the picture tone to match your creative vision. The Natural tone works well for minimizing noise.
Zoom Auto Review
This function shows you an enlarged view of the image right after you shoot, to make it easier to check the focus.

Flash
Choose the ideal flash for most any situation.

Self-Timer
You can use either a 10-second or 2-second setting.
Auto Angle Detection

This function detects and records whether the photo is being shot horizontally or vertically, then automatically rotates all vertically framed images during playback so they can be easily seen on the LCD or TV screen.*
*By connecting FX50/FX07 with an AV cable. Some TV models are not compatible with this function.
Audio Recording & Built-in Speaker

Add 5 seconds of sound to pictures, as you shoot.
Or, if you prefer, add up to 10 seconds of sound after shooting. New built-in speaker lets you listen to ambient sounds or dialog while immediately viewing your images on-site.
Economy Mode
This mode saves battery power by turning off the LCD after a certain amount of idle time. There are two economy levels to choose from.
Level 1 : LCD turns off when the camera has been idle for 15 seconds.
Level 2 : Same as Level 1, plus the LCD turns off when the camera has been idle for 5 seconds after you've taken a shot.
